The endless combination of materials, techniques, and firing styles has kept her captivated with clay since high school and fuels her creative exploration. For this piece, Sea and Scales, Avi has applied a white porcelain slip to the outside of a wheel thrown vase and then stretched the piece from inside to create cracks that reveal the dark clay beneath.
