Bio: Cicely Carew (b. 1982, Los Angeles, CA) is a Boston-based artist whose multimedia practice spans painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, immersive installations, and sound meditations. Working from a place of improvisation and spiritual embodiment, her vibrant abstractions explore the transformative power of joy and freedom, inviting viewers into realms of healing and play.
Carew holds an MFA from Lesley Art + Design and a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art + Design. Her large-scale public commissions include Ambrosia (2021) at Boston's Prudential Center. Winner of the 2023 James and Audrey Foster Prize from ICA Boston, her work is in collections including the Harvard Art Museum, U.S. Department of State, Google, Fidelity Investments, and the Federal Reserve of Boston.
